    Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Downey possesses special expertise in the diseases of the ear, dizziness, tinnitus, and hearing related disorders.

    She has authored articles on subjects including Tinnitus, Cochlear Implantation in Malformed Cochleas, and Lesions of the Internal Auditory Canal. The last two subjects she also presented to The American Neurotologic Society. Dr. Downey's other peer presentations have included "Clinical Evidence of Direct HIV Cochleotoxicity" as well as Anosmia in Chronic Sinusitis."

    She is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Allergy, and Women in Otolaryngology.

    Dr. Downey received her medical degree from The New York University School of Medicine and completed her Otolaryngology residency at New York University Medical Center, where she also completed a Fellowship in Otology/Neurotology.
