• Biography:

    Dr. Kunal Shah is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (Rutgers-RWJMS). He earned his medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School before moving to Philadelphia where he completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Drexel University - Hahnemann University Hospital and fellowship training at Lewis Katz School of Medicine - Temple University Hospital.

    He was inducted into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism society during residency, where he also created a hospital protocol for diabetic ketoacidosis. During his fellowship, he worked on several ongoing projects including the effect of weight-negative diabetes medications on patients with bariatric surgery.

    Research/Clinical Interests:

    Dr. Shah has a major interest in obesity medicine and is one of the medical directors at the Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Center for Metabolic Health and Weight Management. He also works as a general endocrinologist.

    Active research and clinical projects:

    Dr. Shah is actively involved in upcoming research looking at options for treatment of hypothalamic obesity
