John Merlino, III, DO

Dr. Merlino was born in Staten Island, N.Y. At a young age, he moved to Colts Neck, N.J., where he spent most of his childhood. He earned an undergraduate degree in biology at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. and a Master of Medical Science degree at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Dr. Merlino went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, N.J. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Union Hospital in Union, N.J. He then completed fellowship programs in cardiovascular diseases and electrophysiology and pacing at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, N.J.
Dr. Merlino is an attending electrophysiologist with Barnabas Health Medical Group. He maintains hospital privileges at Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J., and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, N.J. He is a member of the American Heart Association and the American Osteopathic Association. He holds board certifications from the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and electrophysiology and pacing.
Dr. Merlino's interests include the management of cardiac arrhythmias. His services include pacemaker implantation, defibrillator implantation, biventricular pacing/cardiac resynchronization therapy and cardiac ablations.
