Affiliations Find Me On www.opsbonedocs.com/king_bio.html Bio Dr. King was born and raised in Long Island, NY. He accepted a four-year Army ROTC scholarship to attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1984. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and given the opportunity to continue his studies at Long Island University, C.W. Post, in Greenvale, NY. He received a master’s degree in Biochemistry. Dr. King then attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY, achieving high honors in Anatomy. After earning his medical degree in 1990, Dr. King was promoted to Captain in the United States Army.
After completing a pediatric orthopedic rotation at Shriner's Children’s Hospital in Lexington, KY Dr. King was placed on active military service at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Leonard Wood, MO. During his four-years there, he held the post of Chief orthopedic surgeon. In 2000 he relocated to New Jersey, establishing OPS with Dr. Charko.
Dr. King is married with two children. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends boating and traveling. Dr. King is an avid proponent of living a healthy lifestyle, and uses his free time to practice the healthy nutrition and exercise he advocates.
Since joining Dr Charko at OPS, Dr. King has had an interest in sports medicine, attending yearly CME conferences, and receiving additional training on Arthroscopic procedures related to shoulder, wrist, hip, knee and ankles. Dr. King uses the latest technology, including implants and devices to enhance surgical outcomes. He also performs reconstructive procedures such as partial and total joint replacements, and resurfacing procedures. -
