Dr. James Orsini, our founder, is also the Director of Oncology at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. He completed his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and his oncology fellowships at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
In 2013 Dr. Orsini was appointed to the University Hospital Board of Directors and is currently serving on the Quality Care, Strategic Planning, Audit, and Governance and Ethics Committees. He has earned many honors for his work including being named one of New Jersey’s Top Doctors. He is the former President of the Oncology Society of New Jersey and the Essex County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and was named Chairman of the Essex County Medical Society Committee on Cancer. He was appointed to the Physician’s Practice Review Panel of the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners by then Acting Governor Richard Codey. His commitment to the field of oncology led to the opening of the first dedicated oncology unit in the North Jersey area at the Clara Maass Medical Center.
After treating the father of world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, Dr. Orsini opened an office in Bologna, Italy. His work in Italy led to the publication of one of the first medical reports on the adjuvant treatment of node-negative breast cancer with systemic chemotherapy. His outstanding efforts were recognized and rewarded by the dedication of the Camera di Benessere (Room of Healing) by a grateful Mr. Bocelli at the Clara Maass Medical Center, as well as a concert dedicated to the St. Barnabas Healthcare System at the Meadowlands Arena.
Dr. Orsini continues to travel to Italy regularly for consultative work for the Italian citizens. He and his wife Marie have four children: Tiffany Orsini, Esquire; Lisa Orsini, Ph.D; Noelle Orsini; and Dr. James Orsini, Jr. He is the proud grandfather of James Rocco, and twin granddaughters Katherine and Renee.
