Erik S. Larsen, DO

Dr. Erik Larsen is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who is Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. He is a New Jersey native who graduated from Rutgers University and completed his medical training in 1993 from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Larsen then spent the next five years completing his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery from Peninsula Hospital in Queens, New York. He trained in many hospitals throughout the New York City area and also spent three months at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington, Kentucky. His orthopedic training was completed at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia with a Sports Medicine Fellowship. During this time, he was involved in the care of both professional and collegiate athletes including the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team and the Philadelphia Wings indoor lacrosse team. Dr. Larsen has been practicing in Toms River since 1999.
He cares for a wide range of orthopedic problems of the shoulder, elbow, arm, knee, leg and ankle. He specializes in sports medicine injuries, comprehensive care of athletes, and treatment of complex knee and shoulder problems in the athlete and non-athlete, including advanced techniques in arthroscopic surgery and ligament and cartilage reconstructive surgery, total and partial joint replacement surgery, nonsurgical treatment and rehabilitation. He also specializes in osteoarthritis throughout the body. Dr. Larsen has long standing relationships with many institutions and organizations in our community. He is currently on staff and performs surgery at Community Medical Center and Physicians' SurgiCenter in Toms River.
