Eman Rashed, MD,PhD
- Cardiology | Cardiology-Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant
Dr. Eman Rashed is a New Jersey native, born in Jersey City, to Egyptian parents and is one of four siblings. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then completed a dual degree MD/PhD program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She stayed at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School for her Internal Medicine Training where she served as Chief Medical Resident. She went on to complete her Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Rashed completed her training in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Transplant at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia before joining the Heart Failure and Transplant Team at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
She is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Adult Echocardiography, and Nuclear Medicine. Her clinical interests encompass all aspects of the management of Heart Failure including the selection, and care, of patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support Devices and Heart Transplantation, Genetic Cardiomyopathies, Myocarditis, Valvular Disease, Peripartum Cardiomyopathy, and the Cardiac Management of High Risk Obstetric cases. Her research interests include Frailty in Advanced Heart Failure, and the Effect of Advanced Therapies on Frailty, Echocardiographic Evaluation of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, and the Genetic Evaluation of Peripartum Cardiomyopathy. She practices evidence based medicine and believes in utilizing a patient centered approach founded on open communication, transparency and tailoring her treatment approach to the individual.
