Edgar Lugo Rodríguez is a dedicated physician who completed his training in General Psychiatry and specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, he treats a wide spectrum of mental health conditions in the pediatric population, such as, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Attention Hyperactivity Attention Deficit Disorder, (ADHD), Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and more. Edgar has a great rapport with children, adolescents, and their parents. Edgar empathizes with children and adolescents; he works alongside parents and therapists to provide optimal treatment to help each patient succeed and thrive. He believes that each patient and their environment are different, and each treatment plan should be thoroughly evaluated and carefully monitored.
Edgar is a graduate from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Medicina, Buenos Aires, Argentina (University of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Buenos Aire, Argentina). He completed his General Adult Psychiatry residency at Saint Barnabas Health System in the Bronx, New York. He completed his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Bronx Care Health System, Bronx, New York. Edgar has six years of experience between residency and fellowship training. Edgar obtained during the Child and Adolescent psychiatry fellowship the “Fellow of the Year/Excellence in Professionalism” Award. He was also Co-Chief of fellows during his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. He led and participated in research projects, poster presentations, as well as quality improvement projects during residency and fellowship.
Today, Edgar is focused on providing the best possible evidence-based medical care to each patient. His goal is to work well with his patients and their families; and to provide his skills, so that the children and adolescents he treats may have a chance for the best possible future and fulfill their dreams.
