Daniel M. Sansobrino, MD, was born in East Meadow, New York. He graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in Exercise Physiology. Upon graduating college, he worked as an exercise specialist at several physical fitness centers as well as cardiac rehabilitation centers in NY. During this time, he was completing his premedical requirements at New York University. Dr. Sansobrino graduated from St. George's School of Medicine and continued his post-doctoral training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.
During his training at Cooperman Barnabas, he trained extensively in minimally invasive surgery. He performed hundreds of procedures while training under some very well known and well respected surgeons. Dr. Sansobrino was one of the first residents at Cooperman Barnabas to assist on a robotic hysterectomy using the da Vinci robotic system. In 2009 he was awarded “The Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Award” from The American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Sansobrino was the first resident to complete training at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center with full robotic surgery credentialing.
