Dr. Failey is equally passionate about changing the lives of womenwho require breast reconstruction following a partial or complete mastectomy for breastcancer. His dual training in plastic and general surgery allows him to better understand the complexities of the surgical management of the breast so he can help guide his patients through this physically and emotionally challenging process. His philosophy is to listen to his patient and figure out how he can bring out the best person they see in themselves without turning them into someone else.

Dr. Failey received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and went on to complete an intensive six-year general surgery program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. His passion for plastic surgery led him to dedicate one full year of this training to research, investigating methods to speed and improve wound healing in a laboratory funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His efforts earned him a coveted spot in the plastic surgery training program at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Failey is double-board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He has also been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Failey maintains membership in numerous professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons (for which he is a past president), the American College of Surgeons, and the Medical Societies of New Jersey and Morris County. He currently serves as the Vice Chair for the Department of Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health - Somerset.
