Christos Plakas, MD
- Orthopedics | Pediatric-Orthopedic Surgery | Surgery-Orthopedic
Dr. Plakas, a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon, founded Coastal Pediatric Orthopedics in 2017 to practice medicine in a different way. In a day and age where everyone is connected with just a few clicks, he felt that accessibility to your doctor should be no different – no call services, no long wait times, and clear, open communication.
His actively growing practice treats over 1,000 pediatric patients a year. Even with a large number of patients, Dr. Plakas prides himself on giving every family personal attention and responsiveness when they need it most.
Dr. Plakas attended Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ and went on to complete an additional one-year orthopedic fellowship specializing in pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Plakas is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as the New Jersey Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics.
He is available to see patients in the emergency room upon request or in his Little Silver office for same day appointments. He is also available 24/7 for phone, email and telehealth consults and appointments.
