Dr. Christopher Freer is the Senior Vice President of Emergency and Hospitalist Medicine at RWJBarnabas Health.
The New Jersey native received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 1991, his doctorate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- SOM in 1995, and completed his residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served as chief resident from July 1997 to June 1998.
He first joined Saint Barnabas in 1998, before it became part of the RWJBarnabas Health system. He has worn many hats concurrently while working at Saint Barnabas and then moving to system wide roles, including that of Director of the Observation Unit, Interim director of the Pediatric Emergency Department, and vice chairman and then chairman of the Emergency Department, then system director for RWJBarnabas Health Emergency Services.
