    Dr. Chetan Gohal is a multi-fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine injuries of the entire body. Additionally, he has subspecialized training in upper extremity surgery (shoulder, elbow, and wrist). He uses cutting-edge technology to treat sports-related injuries for both competitive athletes and for the general population. This includes everything from non-operative rehabilitation and specialized injections (Platelet Rich Plasma, Stem Cells, and Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate) to surgical procedures. He has experience working as an assistant team physician for professional athletes, including the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs. He also has subspecialty training in shoulder replacement surgery as well as trauma surgery for fractures.

    Dr. Gohal is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he played competitive soccer up to the national level. He aims to optimize recovery from sports injuries to allow athletes to return to sport as quickly and efficiently as possible. He believes in patient-centered care and customizes each treatment plan to meet the goals and expectations of each individual patient. In addition to performing sports medicine surgeries of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip, Dr. Gohal treats degenerative conditions including shoulder arthritis, rotator cuff tears, knee meniscus tears, and cartilage injuries.

    Dr. Gohal received his medical education (MD) at the Michael G. Degroote School of Medicine (McMaster University), which has been ranked amongst the top medical schools in the world. He subsequently completed his 5-year Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Training at McMaster University, followed by an esteemed Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. During his fellowship, Dr. Gohal cared for professional athletes in his role as an assistant Team Physician for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs. He also provided team coverage for the NBA Combine, MLB spring training, and the Northwestern Wildcats D1 football team.

    In addition, Dr. Gohal completed an Orthopaedic Upper Extremity and Trauma Fellowship at the University of Toronto, where he received specialized training to deal with conditions of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist as well as broken bones throughout the body.

    Dr. Gohal has published numerous book chapters and research papers with a focus on improving patient outcomes after surgery for sports injuries. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and now acts as an expert reviewer for a number of top Orthopaedic journals.
