Biography:
Dr. Anupam Ohri, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology at Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She serves as the Associate Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship Program. Dr. Ohri graduated from GMC Amritsar, India in 2000. She completed residency training in the fields of Pathology at BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad in 2003 and Internal Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, NJ in 2008. Her fellowship training in Endocrinology was at SUNY at Buffalo, NY in 2013. During her fellowship, she developed an interest in the anti-inflammatory effects of GLP-1 agonists and the use of these agents in patients with type1 diabetes.
Clinical Interests:
Dr. Ohri’s areas of interest include Diabetes, Thyroid and Cystic Fibrosis. She is involved in care of patients with Cystic Fibrosis related diabetes. She is also interested in the benefits of exercise physiology in diabetes. She has authored book chapters on this topic. She is involved in clinical trials related to drug induced hyperglycemia and its treatment. Dr. Ohri participates in the Diabetes Committee at the RWJ Hospital and helps formulate policies and protocols related to the care of patients with diabetes. Dr. Ohri is a member of AACE and the Endocrine Society. She is actively involved in raising awareness about preventive care for diabetes in the South Asian Community.
