• Currently, I am a practicing neurosurgeon working as an extension of the Columbia Univeristy Neurosurgery Practice. My specialties include brain tumor surgery for both cancer and benign disease processes as well as microvascular decompression for hemifacial spasm and trigeminal neuralgia, pituitary surgery transsphenoidally as well as endoscopically using navigation techniques. I am also trained in skull base and cerebrovascular surgery and these sub-specialized operative techniques allow me to perform complex cranial operations with significantly lower complications compared to traditional approaches. My professional plans are to continue to develop very high-end neurosurgical programs that provide state-of-the-art care for patients with intracranial pathologies in the state of New Jersey. A significant component to my practice is basing decisions on evidence and following adjudicated outcome measures in order to modify practice patterns in hospital programs to perform at the highest possible level for their patients. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center is a part of New Jersey where the Columbia Neurosurgery Practice is very interested in developing neurosurgical programs.

We have a presence in the central part of New Jersey as well as Northern part of New Jersey and I feel strongly that our expertise in combination with the excellence of the medical center would be a combination that could provide outstanding care to a region where our subspecialty practice could thrive. Neurooncology as well as benign intracranial disease can certainly be treated at a large center of excellence such as Cooperman Barnabas.
