Andrey Filimonov, MD, provides care in all aspects of otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat), with a special focus on rhinology and skull base surgery. Dr. Filimonov obtained a pharmacy degree from Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and a medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Upon graduation, Dr. Filimonov was accepted to the prestigious otolaryngology residency program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. After obtaining a comprehensive otolaryngology education at Mount Sinai, Dr. Filimonov pursued rhinology and skull base surgery fellowship training at the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Following the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Filimonov joined the faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he now serves as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology. Dr. Filimonov’s extensive training allows him to be well versed within all aspects of otolaryngology. In particular, his fellowship training within rhinology gives Dr. Filimonov special expertise within the treatment of sinus complaints such as congestion, nasal polyps, deviated septum, allergies, and nose bleeds. Furthermore, Dr. Filimonov’s training within skull base surgery makes him especially able to deal with issues such as sinus tumors, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and pituitary/skull base cancers.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Filimonov has made notable contributions to the literature within the field of otolaryngology. He has participated in diverse clinical research project which have resulted in numerous peer reviewed publications and presentations at national meetings. Furthermore, Dr. Filimonov is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of the American Rhinologic Society and the North American Skull Base Society.
