Alan D. Strumeyer, MD

Dr. Strumeyer received his B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in Binghamton, N.Y., and his M.D. degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed both his internship in General Surgery and residency in Urology and the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, N.J. He is a board certified urologist and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Urological Society and Medical Society of New Jersey and member of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.
Dr. Strumeyer is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at UMD/New Jersey Medical School Section of Urology. He is involved with the education of both medical students and residents. He is in private practice in the practice of urology at Essex Urology Associates with offices in Millburn, N.J., and Newark, N.J. Dr. Strumeyer is on staff at St Barnabas Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, East Orange General Hospital, St James Hospital and the Stone Center of New Jersey.
With the advent of robotic surgery to treat prostate cancer the morbidity and hospital stay associated with open surgery has dramatically been reduced. He is part of the team of qualified surgeons at NBIMC offering Robotic Radical Prostatectomy and the hospital has a very experienced ancillary team assuring the best of care.
