The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is composed of five divisions. These divisions include Division of Gynecologic Cancer and Pelvic Surgery, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science, The Center for Urogynecology and Maternity.

Our Division of Gynecologic Cancer and Pelvic Surgery is nationally recognized for its expertise in treating gynecologic malignancies and is one of the largest centers in the northeastern United States with one of the highest patient volumes. Team members foster innovative clinical research for the benefit of patients and deliver comprehensive care in a sensitive way.

At the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science (Division of Reproductive Endocrinology), our world-renowned embryologists and endocrinologists have pioneered many of today's assisted reproductive technologies, including preimplantation genetic diagnosis and cytoplasmic transfer, which increase the chance of a viable pregnancy. The Institute's pregnancy rates are among the highest in the nation. Our patients have come to us from 43 states and 17 foreign countries.

The Center for Urogynecology of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center specializes in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary stress and/or urge incontinence, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunction, fecal incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, including interstitial cystitis and other urogynecologic problems. An experienced medical team offers patients both conservative and surgical approaches.

The Fibroid Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center offers women a team approach to diagnosing this common gynecologic condition along with a wide array of individualized treatment options, including alternatives to hysterectomy. Each patient will receive a comprehensive consultation with a gynecologist and interventional radiologist at the same time. The treatment of uterine fibroids is most successful when it is tailored to the patient, her specific symptoms, clinical situation and needs. To that end, our multidisciplinary team spends time understanding the extent to which the symptoms caused by the fibroids are affecting the patient's quality of life and then develops a treatment plan specifically designed to treat and manage each patients’ unique condition. Patients have access to the most advanced diagnostic testing and treatment options available.
