The Acute Care Surgery (ACS) team, in the Department of Surgery at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, is available for patients that require emergent surgery, often arriving though the Emergency Department. With their years of experience, advanced training, and the supportive resources available at CBMC, our ACS surgeons embrace the full scope of modern surgical techniques. They provide the highest level of expertise and compassionate care to patients requiring prompt surgical care for routine issues such as:
- Appendicitis
- Gallbladder disease
- Bowel obstruction
- Hernia
Our ACS Team also cares for patients that require surgical treatment on an outpatient basis when their symptoms are controlled enough that they do not require immediate surgery.
Together, our surgeons will work with the patient to choose the right plan for their specific case.
