Our board-certified pediatric surgeons operate on children from the newborn stage through the teenage years for conditions that affect the digestive system, abdomen, lungs, urinary and reproductive systems.

Your child is also cared for by a pediatric anesthesiologist, who has received advanced training in the care of infants and children. With specialized pediatric nursing staff and child life specialists in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, Intensive Care Unit, Shyan Sun, M.D. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics Unit, our team members strive to make each child feel safe and well cared for.

Some children with complex problems may require the expertise of a variety of pediatric specialists beyond those in our Pediatric Surgery Program. For situations that require a multidisciplinary approach, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center offers a wealth of expertise in every pediatric field, including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, pulmonology and rheumatology.
