At Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center), we understand that people want state-of-the-art emergency care in a safe, comforting setting. Our Emergency Department is staffed by full-time board certified physicians, including pediatric emergency medicine specialists, emergency and critical care nurses and others, who are ready to treat your family as if it were their own.
The Emergency Department at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center is one of the busiest emergency care facilities in New Jersey, treating nearly 100,000 patients annually, 30,000 of whom are children.
As the vital link between the sick or injured and the Medical Center, the Emergency Department provides critical support for specialty programs including:
- The Heart Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
- The Burn Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, the state’s only certified burn center
- A Comprehensive Stroke Center as designated by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services
