Mission Moments

The Community Medical Center Foundation exists to support the vital services and programs at Community Medical Center. We are fortunate to have the support of literally thousands of donors and friends who make philanthropic contributions and selflessly give their time to keep our community healthy.

Below are some Mission Moments made possible through the tremendous support of our very generous community. We could not do it without you.

Red, White & Brew

The 19th Annual Red, White & Brew Wine Tasting event was held on Wednesday, June 5 at the Toms River Country Club. Thanks to the many chefs, distributors, attendees and sponsors, this event raised over $117,000 for the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at CMC. Funds from this important event benefit staff education, patient transportation, and patient comfort items. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Rosanne L. Citta Community Impact Award given to a very deserving Ryan Blumenthal.

Mother’s Day Mammogram Screening Event

As a mom, you typically make your family’s health a priority over yourself. However, to continue to play the role of caretaker for years to come, you have to look after yourself too. Lavallette donors Paul and Dana Magno, along with their children, helped to make this Mother’s Day special for 48 women who have little or no access to insurance who received their very first mammograms free of charge. The Mother’s Day Breast Cancer Screening event was held on Saturday, May 11, at the Women’s Imaging Center at Community Medical Center. The day was filled with flowers, giveaways and a light brunch for all to enjoy. Thanks to the support of the Paul and Dana Magno Family Foundation, we were able to aid in early detection and educate this community on the additional health screenings and services we offer.

Community Medical Center (CMC)’s Medical Staff presented a touching gift to their hospital teammates when they unveiled a new mural entitled “Compassion over COVID-19,” now installed at CMC. They commissioned the artwork as a tribute to CMC’s health care team and the empathy they have demonstrated throughout the pandemic. Thanks to their generosity, the health care workers’ heroic response, and the overwhelming support of the community, has been memorialized in artwork on display in the hospital in Toms River.

During the pandemic, the hospital received encouraging cards, letters, and art from members of the community. These messages of hope were incorporated into the mural created by artist Michael Malizia of My Life Studio, which features hands coming together and sun rays.

Thank you to Michael's Feat for this generous gift to help create the Michael's Feat Family Room, where families can come to recharge in a quiet space.
