Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP)
HELP is a specialized volunteer program that provides extra attention and care to senior citizens admitted at Clara Maass. Started through a generous grant from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, our goal is to keep seniors engaged and as comfortable as possible during their hospital stay.
Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elder (NICHE)
NICHE Care for Older Adults
Clara Maass is proud to carry the NICHE Designation in recognition of our commitment to patient-centered care for older adult patients. NICHE hospitals recognize the specific/unique needs of older adult patients and that patient- and family-centered care is imperative to creating a positive experience for elders.
Wellness Assessment Van for Elders (WAVE) Program
WAVE is the first program in our region that brings no-cost, Medicare-funded wellness visits to seniors in their own communities.
WAVE is a community health service provided by health care experts at Clara Maass Medical Center who are passionate about the health and well-being of our community members ages 65 and older. WAVE is made possible by generous support from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, a longtime partner of the Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation.
Behavioral Health
The Geriatric and Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC) addresses the needs of the growing population of individuals aged 65 and older.
Located on-site at CMMC in the Continuing Care Building, the 22-bed inpatient voluntary unit complements the Medical Center’s existing 20-bed behavioral health involuntary inpatient unit.
