What to Expect During a Telehealth Appointment

Prior to your Telehealth Visit with Children's Specialized Hospital, we'd like to share some important information you should know for your appointment:

  • Check-in-From Home is required one day prior for Telehealth appointments. Learn more about our Check-in-From Home Program here.
  • Your provider will meet with you and your child virtually, learning about your concerns and gaining an understanding of your child's skills and needs.
  • Your provider will be able to problem solve with you, and provide recommendations regarding interventions to help your child, including therapies or educational services.
  • If you have been approved for a telehealth phone visit instead of a telehealth video visit, please note the phone call may come from a blocked number or our main number - (888) 244.5373.
  • Please ensure you're using Safari, Chrome or Firefox to enter your provider's virtual waiting room.

**Please keep in mind provisions of specific new diagnoses may not be possible until an in-person evaluation can be completed. In addition, though medication may be a helpful treatment for your child, initiation of new medication must be completed safely. Therefore, we cannot initiate medication until an in-person visit occurs.

Insurance Information

  • Please be advised that a representative from our insurance verification and authorization team will review your benefit coverage and any changes during the pandemic prior to your scheduled appointment.
  • Our insurance team will contact you to let you know what is covered and if there will be any out of pocket costs.
  • Please ensure you are checking your email as well as any texts or phone calls received from us as it may be our insurance department trying to reach you to discuss benefits.
  • As always, please check your benefit coverage with your insurance company.
