Safety Tools

The safety tools provided in the Living Safely Online Center for Safety are available in both English and Spanish. We have provided these tools that can be personalized to support the preferences and safety needs of people with disabilities. These tools can be used for identification, communication, and injury prevention.

Use the ‘Information About Me’ sheet to help others better understand a person’s interests, challenges, and support preferences. Those with a disability who chose to self-disclose, can use a safety identification card to facilitate support interactions with emergency responders and others. A medical identification sheet is helpful to keep important health information in one place when needed. Because it is important to prepare for and practice fire safety, using a fire escape plan that best works for each person is the best practice.
