Research Center Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Children Specialized Hospital’s Postdoctoral Research Fellowships provide advanced rehabilitation research training for postdoctoral fellows interested in pediatric neuropsychology or mobility. Our current fellowships are offered jointly with the Kessler Foundation.

Meet Our Current CSH-Kessler Foundation Fellows

  • Aditi Arora, PhD. is a cognitive neuroscientist with expertise in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) methods, and experimental paradigms. Her research focuses on domain-general and domain-specific processing of theory of mind (ToM) and understanding of alternative perspectives. At Kessler Foundation, she investigates patterns of meta-cognitive neural processing in autistic and typically-developing adolescents and adults.
  • Yu-Lun Chen, PhD., OTR. Received her PhD from the Department of Occupational Therapy at New York University. Her research focuses on the health and participation outcomes of people with disabilities from early childhood to adulthood.
  • Erik Hummer, PhD. received a PhD from the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies (Biomechanics) at the University of Tennessee in 2020. His current research focuses on the design and implementation of visual augmented feedback during rehabilitation interventions to enhance pediatric mobility.

Our Fellowships

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Rehabilitation Research: This two-year program, offered jointly through Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) and Kessler Foundation, prepares scientists for a career in rehabilitation research and disability studies with a focus on the specialty areas of pediatric rehabilitation and outcomes research. We are not currently accepting applications for this position.

Pediatric Rehabilitation and Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship: The two-year program, offered jointly through Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) and Kessler Foundation, focuses on clinical research within the specialty area of pediatric neuropsychological rehabilitation. Training opportunities are provided across multiple departments at CSH and Kessler Foundation, capitalizing on unique opportunities throughout both organizations to pursue key clinical research training goals. All fellows participate in an extensive training curriculum and didactic offerings. Multidisciplinary mentored training opportunities are individually tailored to achieve specific goals considering the fellows’ prior background and interests. We are not currently accepting applications for this position.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Pediatric Mobility Rehabilitation: The two-year program, offered jointly through Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) and Kessler Foundation, prepares biomedical scientists, including engineers (e.g. biomedical, mechanical, rehabilitation), biomechanics, kinesiologists, and those in related fields, for a career in rehabilitation research within the specialty area of pediatric mobility. Training opportunities are provided across multiple departments, capitalizing on unique opportunities throughout both organizations to pursue key research training goals. All fellows participate in an extensive training curriculum and didactic offerings. Multidisciplinary mentored training opportunities are individually tailored to achieve specific goals considering the fellows’ prior background and interests. Fellows assist in ongoing endeavors as well as develop his/her own mentored research project at Children’s Specialized Hospital and Kessler Foundation. Fellows will work on various aspects of research projects from inception (e.g., study formulation, grant-writing, etc.), through dissemination (manuscript publication). We are not currently accepting applications for this position.
