Screening and Prevention
To prevent sudden cardiac death in young athletes and identify pre-existing risk factors before they become critical cardiac events, we have partnered with RWJBarnabas Health's Matthew J. Morahan, III Center for Athletes to provide free cardiac screening for children and teens. Screening includes the American Heart Association-recommended personal and family history questionnaire, EKG and consultation with a pediatric cardiologist. More than 1,500 youngsters have been screened.
