Referrals/Consultations
The Metro RDTC serves children and families in Essex County and surrounding areas by providing a vast array of specialized medical, mental health, education, and support programs to help heal the aftermath of child abuse or neglect. We support a coordinated response to the needs of children and their families by working with state agencies, health professionals, law enforcement and other organizations.

Consultations, Court Testimony and Expert Opinions
Metro RDTC clinicians frequently testify as expert witnesses in court cases involving child abuse and neglect.
When Law Enforcement or the Division of Child Protection and Permanency or the Office of the Public defender, Division of the Law Guardian are in need of expert medical opinions related to suspected cases of child abuse and neglect, the Metro RDTC physicians may provide medical chart reviews and second opinions regarding medically complex cases.
