The Department of Neurology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS, New Brunswick, NJ) seeks a full-time faculty adult epilepsy neurologist to be hired at the assistant or associate professor level for our NAEC Level 4-accredited Epilepsy Center.  The qualified candidate will join a growing Epilepsy team that includes four adult epileptologists, five pediatric neurologists & epileptologists, an adult epilepsy advanced practice nurse, neuropsychologists, and three adult and pediatric epilepsy-trained neurosurgeons.  The department also has an ACGME-approved Epilepsy fellowship for 1-2 years duration.  The epilepsy division has an active and growing epilepsy surgery program (including resective, laser ablative and intracranial neuromodulation); stereo-EEG intracranial monitoring and stimulation mapping; utilizes several complementary imaging modalities to assess patients for surgical evaluation; and conducts leading clinical trials and other funded translational and research studies.

Candidates must be graduates of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency, completed fellowship training in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology, and be Board-certified in Neurology.  Board certification in Epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology is an expectation.  Preference will be given to epileptologists with experience in evaluation for epilepsy surgery evaluation & intracranial EEG interpretation.

Clinical responsibilities will include surface & intracranial EEG video monitoring, intraoperative electrocorticography, bedside intracranial EEG functional mapping, Neuro-ICU & other long-term EEG interpretation; inpatient & outpatient epilepsy & neurology care.  There is support from a robust & dedicated neurology residency and neurodiagnostic technologists.  Teaching of medical students, residents, fellows & other trainees is expected. Participation in industry clinical trials, other collaborative research, & scholarly work is expected.  Participating in department & institutional meetings, community service efforts & other collaborative opportunities with RWJMS, other Rutgers faculty, staff and trainees and Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health is expected.
