The largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking a full-time Geriatrician for employment in Livingston, NJ. The Geriatrician will work with a team of 4 fellowship trained Geriatricians. to provide outpatient care at The Maida Geriatric Institute based at the Ambulatory Care Center. The Maida Geriatric Institute is a comprehensive interdisciplinary program that provides complete care for the older adult. Qualified candidates will join a dynamic team composed of those 4 Geriatricians, 2 Nurse practitioners, a social worker and a strong support staff at the Maida Institute. The practice also provides house calls at Assistive Living facilities and individual dwellings, and the Geriatrician will have an opportunity to participate as well.
In addition, the Geriatrician will obtain privileges at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) to provide inpatient care with the Geriatric team for the patients in the practice when hospitalized. When working in the hospital, the Geriatrician will also provide consultative services at CBMC for patients under the care of other physicians and specialty services with the support of an inpatient consult APN.
The Geriatrician will also participate in a robust teaching program supervising medical residents, physician assistant students, nurse practitioners, pharmacy students, and medical students.
New Geriatricians will benefit from teaching opportunities through our system’s existing partnership with Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences which includes two medical schools and many other health professions schools.

Position Requirements:
- Fellowship trained and board-certified in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics or Family Medicine.
- Mix of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities.
- All candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey.
- A commitment to excellence in care and service.
- Weekend call approximately every 6-8th weekend including rotating call weekdays for the practice every 4th week while on hospital rounds.
- Provide supervision for learners at CBMC and at the Maida Institute.
- Participate in community-based and hospital-based educational programs.
