RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist for a Leadership Role in Northern NJ
RWJBarnabas Health is currently seeking an experienced, board-certified OB/GYN Physician for a full-time Residency Program Director position at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and OB/GYN residency program located in Newark, NJ. In addition to administrative duties, this candidate will provide clinical coverage in obstetrics and gynecology and relevant specialties, as appropriate and based on training. Qualified candidates will be very familiar with quality and safety initiatives and will have experience with managing residency programs and schedules.
The Residency Program Director will participate in departmental and hospital committees and activities as outlined by the Department of OB/GYN Chair. The qualified applicant will work to advance the mission and stature of the division and department through involvement in scholarly activity, including grant-writing, grand rounds, advocacy and/or participation on local/regional/national committees or organizations. They will serve as a leader and faulty participant at Newark Beth Isreal Medical Center, and actively participate in the scholarly growth of OB/GYN residents.
Preferred Candidates Will Have:
- 5+ years as core faculty with documented educational and/or administrative experience
- Substantial past involvement in scholarly activities within the past five years
- Administrative experience, preferably as an assistant program director of an accredited teaching program or as a program director of an accredited teaching program
- ABOG Board Certified with active NJ license or eligibility for NJ licensure
- Demonstrated leadership in obtaining ACGME accreditation, curriculum development, evaluation methodology, teaching, and mentoring residents
- Demonstrated excellence in an overall mix of skills including clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advance clinical medicine and institutional service
Key Responsibilities:
- The new Program Director will designate 50% of time to clinical work and 50% of time to administrative duties.
- This position will be heavily involved in the management and scheduling for our residency and education programs and will work hand-in-hand with with the Vice Chair of Research and Education to further develop a CME program
- Organizing and arranging speaking events for lecturers to present to our residents, fellows, and medical students
- Must be deeply familiar with quality and safety procedures and initiatives
