About the Express Care Program
Children never seem to get sick during pediatrician’s normal business hours.
That’s why the Pediatric Emergency Department at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital is pleased to introduce Express Care. Express Care is a service offered by the Pediatric ED to treat children with less-serious, non-life threatening injuries and illnesses when your pediatrician’s office is closed.
Injuries and illnesses treated through Express Care include:
- Colds
- Fever
- Minor injuries
- Brusies/cuts
- Minor lacerations
- Finger injuries
- Ear pain
Express Care is available seven days a week. When you arrive at the Emergency Department, you will be evaluated by a pediatric triage nurse. If it is determined that your child’s condition is considered a minor illness or injury, he or she will be identified as an Express Care patient and taken directly to a room to be treated.
The focus of Express Care is timely, efficient and effective medical care. Our team of experts will provide high quality, pediatric care for your family. All medical professionals servicing the Express Care Program are pediatric-focused, from the physicians and nurses to the pediatric care technicians and child life specialists, who are trained experts at working with patients and their families to keep them comfortable.
