Role Responsible for Leading End-to-End Data and Analytics for the System
West Orange, NJ, February 12, 2025–RWJBarnabas Health, the largest, most comprehensive academic health system in New Jersey, has appointed Roshan Hussain as RWJBarnabas Health’s Chief Data and Analytics Officer. In this role, Mr. Hussain will serve as senior executive for all enterprise-wide data and analytics initiatives in tandem with the broader digital and information technology strategic vision. He will be responsible for delivering value from RWJBarnabas Health data assets and external data ecosystems and for fostering a data- driven culture across the system.

Mr. Hussain has more than 20 years of experience driving data-driven transformation in large health organizations, most recently serving as Chief Data Officer at the University of Kentucky HealthCare (UKHC), where he was recognized by Becker’s as one of the "40 CDOs Making a Difference in Healthcare" for his outstanding contributions to the industry.
Among his key accomplishments are the establishment of a Performance Analytics Center of Excellence, the implementation of a robust Enterprise Data Governance Model, the modernization of the organization’s data warehouse and the adoption of an AI governance program to enhance data stewardship and integrity. Mr. Hussain also played an instrumental role in several Epic go-lives and collaborated on strategic initiatives that significantly improved the quality rankings of multiple healthcare organizations.
Mr. Hussain graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology & Cognitive Psychology. He received his master’s degree in public health from Tulane University and his master’s degree in business administration from Hofstra University.
Mr. Hussain is an active member of several influential health care networks, including the Vizient Performance Improvement Comparative Data Operations Committee, Vizient Chief Data and Informatics Executives Network, and Epic Chief Data & Analytics Officer Network.
