Millburn, NJ (February 5, 2025) - March is National Brain Injury Awareness Month and Opportunity Project invites community members to support their upcoming events focusing on empowering individuals with brain injury as well as increasing knowledge about brain injury prevention.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), over 5 million Americans live with a brain injury related disability. Brain Injury Awareness Month acknowledges the causes and consequences of this common disability, and aims to raise funds to support research, education, and advocacy on behalf of individuals who experience a life-changing brain injury.”

In honor of Brain Injury Awareness Month, Opportunity Project is hosting various events that are open to the public:

  • Wednesday, March 5th at 10:30 am: Mayor Annette Romano of Millburn supports the cause with a Proclamation presentation declaring March as Brain Injury Awareness Month to kick-off Opportunity Project’s Annual Awareness Campaign.
  • The week of March 24 to March 30: Restaurant Week is back by popular demand! Opportunity Project collaborates once again with Explore Millburn-Short Hills for another amazing week of dining deals. Opportunity Project will work with local merchants to identify vocational and community integration opportunities for OP members and aim to raise funds for brain injury programs and services.
