Nursing Administration at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center is accepting online nominations for several nursing awards through April 18, 2025. While criteria vary for each, ideal candidates exemplify our system's commitment to the relentless pursuit of clinical excellence and the delivery of compassionate and equitable care. They portray the best of the profession through patient encounters, innovative project initiatives, community service and overall professional practice.

Janice M. Gamper, RN Nursing Scholarship | This scholarship is for a CBMC employee who is a matriculated nursing student in an accredited Baccalaureate Degree, Associate Degree, or Diploma Nursing Program.
The Marcia Reinfeld Samuels & Morton Abraham Samuels Fund Award for Nurses | Nominate a nurse who always demonstrates the following traits: They are sincere, intelligent, reliable and do the right things in difficult times. They are enthusiastic, devoted to their work and their co-workers, and act as educators, team players, champions and friends.
Joi Mann, R.N. Mentorship Award | Created in Joi's honor, this award recognizes a nurse who exemplifies the mentorship and leadership qualities for which she is remembered.
The Daisy Team Award In Memory of J. Patrick Barnes | This award honors nursing-led collaboration by two or more people, who identify and meet patient and/or patient family needs by going above and beyond the traditional role of Nursing.
DAISY Nurse Leader Award | If you have a nurse leader you would like to nominate, please describe the impact they have on their staff and the patient care they manage.
The Michele Gibson APN Memorial Scholarship | Michele Gibson, APN, CCRN, was one of the first advanced practice nurses (APN) employed by CBMC. She played a crucial role in the development of the Cardiothoracic Surgery program in 1998. During her tenure, Michele was very passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of APNs. Unfortunately, she passed away in December 2022 after a brief and sudden illness. The APN Council sponsors this scholarship in memory of her kindness, compassion, and dedication to both her patients and her profession.
