Lakewood, NJ – Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) welcomes Robert L. Bell, M.D., M.A., F.A.C.S, a Yale University-trained surgeon specializing in laparoscopic, bariatric and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Bell served his residency at Yale University School of Medicine, Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Bell initiated and supervised the Yale Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship program as well as the Bariatric Surgery Program for Yale University and Yale New Haven. Dr. Bell is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and earned his Fellowship in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. He also completed a post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, received multiple honors and awards, and is well published and a noted national speaker.

Dr. Bell brings his surgical ability and academic expertise in minimally invasive surgery to Lakewood and the surrounding community, providing cutting-edge care with outstanding patient outcomes. He joins MMCSC from Summit Medical Group, Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery, and served as an attending surgeon at Overlook Hospital and Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
