Proximity and access are of the utmost importance when choosing between top hospitals. The America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking was created to identify the top hospitals at the state level. Hospitals from all US states were eligible for the ranking and included in the nationwide survey. Four data sources were used for the evaluation: quality metrics data, a nationwide online survey, patient experience, and a voluntary PROMS implementation survey. As a result, the 700 hospitals that scored the highest across these criteria have been included on the list.

“We are honored to be recognized by Newsweek as one of the best hospitals in New Jersey, which reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire team,” said Eric Carney, President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood. “We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality, safest care, backed by innovative technology and a compassionate approach. “Quality awards like Newsweek Best-in-State Hospitals are achieved by delivering, consistent, excellent and compassionate patient care at every touchpoint,” said Alan Lee, President of RWJUH. “Through our academic partnership with Rutgers RWJMS and Rutgers Cancer Institute, as well as resources across the RWJBarnabas Health system, we are proud to provide residents of our state and region with access to the highest levels of healthcare services through advanced technology, research, clinical trials and destination therapies available at only a small number of elite institutions nationally.”
