Twenty-seven distinguished nurse educators across the entire country were selected for induction, and we proudly congratulate RWJBH’s Mary E. Koch, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CNOR, ANEF, Administrative Director, Perioperative Education, Center for Professional Development, Innovation and Research (CPDIR), RWJBarnabas Health - The Institute for Nursing Excellence, for being one of those selected in 2024 as a prestigious fellow.
Mary has dedicated decades to preparing nurses for practice, and her significant contributions as both a Clinical and Academic Nurse Educator were honored with her induction as a fellow into the prestigious 2024 National League for Nursing (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education.
In addition to her role at RWJBH as a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist, she also served as adjunct faculty at several nursing schools across New Jersey.
Her 25-year commitment to the New Jersey League for Nursing (NJLN), has been on the board for the last 10 years, President 2022-2023 and currently the immediate Past-President until March 2026. Mary has been instrumental in the awarding of over $400,000 in nursing scholarships over the past five years, supporting education at all levels from LPN through doctoral degrees.
Mary is also a member of the Advisory Council for the New Jersey Collaborating Center of Nursing (NJCCN), where she focuses on advancing educational improvements as part of the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 initiative. It is through her cumulative accomplishments that have earned her a place in the NLN Academy of Nursing Education.
Mary was officially inducted during the official ceremony on Friday, September 20, 2024.
