Long Branch, NJ, November 5, 2024Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) has been recognized by Healthgrades as a Five-Star Recipient for Outpatient Total Knee Replacement for 2025. Additionally, MMC is a recipient of the Healthgrades 2025 Outpatient Joint Replacement Excellence Award and was named among the top 10 percent in the nation for Outpatient Joint Replacement.

HealthGrades 2025 Clinical Outcomes Methodology is based on an independent analysis of the country’s more than 4,500 acute care hospitals and its Star ratings are determined by actual vs. predicted performance. Unique among its specialty care awards, the Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery and Outpatient Joint Replacement Excellence Awards recognize the national leaders in outpatient care, one of the fastest-growing areas of healthcare. In recent years, the number of orthopedic procedures taking place in an outpatient environment has grown exponentially, a trend that has only accelerated since the pandemic.

For patients who are appropriate candidates, MMC offers a fast-track joint replacement surgery program with very short hospital stay as well as excellent clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

“These recognitions from Healthgrades are representative of our deep commitment to providing superior care to our joint replacement patients,” said David Chalnick, M.D., Medical Director of Joint Replacement Surgery. “Our program is widely recognized for following the newest researched protocols for enhanced joint replacement recovery, and our great quality indicators. And our Fast-Track Surgery Program has yielded excellent results and there has been a significant reduction in hospital stay without a rise in complications or readmissions.”

This latest recognition comes on the heels of MMC earning top ratings as high performing in the U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2024-for both hip and knee replacement. MMC’s Total Hip and Knee Replacement Program has achieved Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification for 13 consecutive years in recognition of the program’s commitment to excellence in providing care for joint replacement patients.
