RWJBarnabas Health understands the critical importance of education and early childhood development in pursuit of our mission to create healthier communities. Building upon our commitment to proactively address the social factors that impact health outcomes, the system invested in the construction of the Blanquita B. Valenti Community School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, part of the project plan for the Jack and Cheryl Morris Cancer Center, the state’s first free-standing cancer hospital. The school, which focuses on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math), opened its doors in September 2023 to approximately 800 students in grades K through 8.
