Surgeon Frank Borao, M.D., has been named MMC Physician of the Month for July. Presenting the award is Chief Medical Officer Kenneth Granet, M.D. They were joined for the presentation by perioperative services’ team members and hospital leadership.
Long Branch, NJ, July 25, 2024 – Surgeon Frank Borao, M.D., who serves as section chief of minimally invasive surgery at Monmouth Medical Center, (MMC), has been named Physician of the Month for July. Dr. Borao, who first came to MMC in 1994 as a surgical resident, was praised as a technically talented and compassionate surgeon by a fellow surgeon, who noted, “It has been an honor to work with him, first as his resident and now as his colleague.” Among the additional comments received in his nomination were:
“Dr. Borao has helped countless patients by providing the highest level of minimally invasive approaches providing even patients with complex surgical needs a smooth, expedited recovery.”
“He is passionate about teaching and about making sure that patients get the best care possible using the most advanced minimally invasive techniques.”
“He is very kind in the operating room to the nursing staff and works collaboratively with the anesthesia team. Always a pleasure to work with Dr. Borao.”
Dr. Borao also serves as Medical Director of MMC’s Center for Bariatrics, which was recently re-accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), a joint Quality Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as an ACS Quality Partner.
