Long Branch, NJ, January 12, 2024 – A Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) praised for having an unparalleled level of kindness and compassion for her patients, doctors and peers has been honored with an excellence in caring award.
Pamela Molina, a CST with MMC’s Perioperative Services’ team, has received the hospital’s Lotus Award, which was created to honor a CST, Patient Care Associate or Technician or Mental Health Associate that has provided extraordinary, compassionate, patient/family-centered care. In nominating Pamela, a colleague praised her as “dependable, efficient and an overall pleasure.” She wrote:
“I have known and worked with Pam for three years. Her willingness to take on difficult assignments and successfully precept orientees has repeatedly impressed me and the rest of the OR leadership I have watched Pam rise from a scrub tech student to her present position in three short years. Pam’s skills to no end with just her work. She possesses an unparalleled level of kindness and compassion for her patient, doctors and peers. I have witnessed firsthand Pam’s ability to handle challenging situation with grace and precision. Her calm demeanor under pressure and collaborative spirt make her an invaluable asset to our surgical team. This not only fosters a positive working environment, but also creates a comforting atmosphere for everyone in the OR. The combination of her technical skillset and interpersonal warmth truly sets her apart and represents all that is good at Monmouth Medical. Pam embodies the qualities of an outstanding member of the MMC OR family. Her hard work, technical expertise and compassionate approach make her truly deserving of the Lotus Award Pam, from all of us in Perioperative Services, thank you for everything you do for us and for our patients.”
The Lotus Award is a quarterly recognition program at MMC. Lotus Award nominees’ names are all blinded and the nominations go through the hospital’s Patient Care Coordinating Council, which includes staff from Administration, Nursing Leadership and the Chairs of MMC’s Shared Governance Councils.
