The new state-of-the-art Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) on C4 has 13 new private rooms designed to support cutting edge critical care. Right-sized to accommodate all patient needs, including for those post heart surgery and post heart/lung transplant surgery, with additional space for clinical equipment. The spacious rooms also include more room for loved ones to share in the healing process.
When complete theEmergency Department will increase by approximately 4,000 square feet, with nine new treatment areas in the adult Emergency Department, three new pediatric treatment areas and one new fast-track treatment area. It will also boast new exterior signage as well as a separate entrance and waiting area for families receiving care in the pediatric Emergency Department. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center cares for approximately 95,000 patients a year in the Emergency Department.
