A Month of Transformation
September brings with it changes, the start of school alters Summer schedules and the Autumnal equinox brings on Fall. It is fitting then, to focus on making changes for self-improvement. September is known for many National efforts to improve aspects of our lives, it is not only Self-Improvement Month, but National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month, Library Card Sign-up Month and National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Focusing on Self-Improvement spills over into many aspects of our lives, increasing self-esteem and happiness. A quick Google search on Self-Improvement results in an array of results, from top 10, 20, and 45 lists to books and videos on the topic. However, taking the first step toward a self-improvement plan is clarifying what we want and why. Goals can be as simple as learning a new skill, replacing a bad habit or becoming more successful. Once the goal is chosen, pick one or two actionable strategies to get there. Remember to reward yourself for small accomplishments along the way. If you need help to get to your what and why, One Source EAP may be able to help. Just call 800-300-0628. All calls are answered 24/7/365 and are strictly confidential.
