Belleville, NJ — Clara Maass Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has been awarded the Primary Stroke Center Certification by The Joint Commission, a non-profit organization driven by its commitment to improving health care systems and facilities. This recognition is granted to hospitals that have shown outstanding care and expertise in treating stroke patients, in collaboration with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.

As a primary stroke center, Clara Maass Medical Center has a team of board-certified neurologists and radiologists specializing in diagnosing and treating stroke patients. Neurology and Emergency Department personnel are also trained in diagnosing and treating stroke. Our hospital also offers neuroimaging services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and rehabilitation services, which are crucial for stroke patients' recovery. And we track outcomes for stroke patients, which helps to identify areas for improvement and ensures that patients receive the best possible care.
