NICU Medical Director Meera Kale, M.D., has been named MMC Physician of the Month for December. Presenting the award is Chief Medical Officer Kenneth Granet, M.D. They were joined for the presentation by NICU team members and hospital leadership.
Long Branch, NJ, December 21, 2023 – Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) neonatologist Meera Kale, M.D., has been named December Physician of the Month. Dr. Kale, who joined the MMC Medical Staff in 2012 and was named Medical Director of the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) this year, was praised as a great person, leader and physician.
Among the additional comments received in Dr. Kale’s nominations were:
- “Dr. Kale acts with integrity, is respected by the staff for nurturing growth and development, inspires staff enthusiasm, and we are fortunate to have her as our NICU Director. Dr. Kale works to develop and foster relationships between the neonatologists and nurses, while also leading the unit to provide excellent care to our patients and extending compassion to their parents. It is an honor and privilege to work with Dr. Kale.”
- “Dr. Kale has done a tremendous job as the director of the NICU. Her leadership allowed for a smooth transition for the group so that we successfully retained all the clinicians. She provides a great sense of collegiality to the unit ensuring that everyone is part of the team.
