Golf’s Best Professional Players Will Visit Northern NJ For 2nd Straight Year to Compete in Prestigious Spring Event that Honors LPGA’s 13 Founding Members and Drives Mission to Engage, Empower, and Support Girls and Women
Clifton, NJ, May 11, 2022 - The LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup (www.thefounderslpga.com) today announced that RWJBarnabas Health, the largest most comprehensive academic health care system in New Jersey, has been named the Official Healthcare Provider of the 2022 tournament, May 11-15 at historic Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, NJ. As part of the partnership, RWJBarnabas Health is responsible for all on-site Emergency Medical Services (EMS) throughout tournament week, and special attention will be given to melanoma awareness, with signage promoting preventive measures placed across the tournament venue.

Led by local anchor institutions, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Clara Maass Medical Center, 2022 marks the second straight year that RWJBarnabas Health will serve as the Official Healthcare Provider of the Cognizant Founders Cup, a prestigious event that showcases the world’s best professional players and helps drive the LPGA’s mission to engage, empower, and support girls and women. This year’s spring tournament dates serve as ideal timing to help promote melanoma awareness, and the importance of preventive measures.

The Cognizant Founders Cup offers a $3 million purse, which is the largest of any LPGA Tour event outside of the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship.
Tickets for the tournament are available at www.thefounderslpga.com, including general admission tickets, providing access to the tournament grounds any day Wednesday through Sunday are $40, and weekly 5-day pass available for $125. Veterans, first responders, active military and Juniors 17 and under receive free general admission. Hospitality packages begin at $150 per day, which includes access to the Drive On Pavilion on the 9th Green, a parking pass, continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, water, coffee, soft drinks, beer and wine. Additional hospitality packages are available for individuals and corporations seeking a more intimate experience. All parking is on-site and complimentary.
Upper Montclair Country Club is one of only a few country clubs worldwide known to have hosted tournaments for all three professional golf tours, including the LPGA in 1979 & 1980, 1983 & 1984, and 2007-2009. Long considered one of NJ’s premier golf clubs, this legendary A.W. Tillinghast golf course design underwent a major renovation in the 1950s, directed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., transforming Upper Montclair Country Club into its present 27-hole Championship layout.
