May 11, 2022 Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Nationally Recognized as a Best Maternity Care Hospital by Newsweek

Newsweek Best Maternity Care Hospitals 2022 Logo(New Brunswick, NJ) – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), a RWJBarnabas Health facility, was named to Newsweek’s 2022 list of Best Maternity Care Hospitals. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc. The awards list can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three data sources were used for the evaluation:

  • A nationwide online survey of hospital administrators and health care professionals with knowledge about maternity processes, including midwives, neonatal and Obstetricians and gynecologists.
  • Medical key performance indicators on hospitals, with a focus on indicators relevant to maternity care.
  • Results from patient satisfaction surveys.

Newsweek and Statista invited over 10,000 medical professionals to participate in the survey. Only 350 hospitals were recognized on the Best Maternity Hospitals 2022 list.

“The RWJUH maternity team remains committed to providing safe, comfortable and consistently excellent care for every mother who entrusts us with the delivery of their babies,” said Mark V. Sauer, M.D., M.S., Professor and Chair, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Senior Associate Dean for Women’s Health, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. “Receiving this award for a second consecutive year is incredibly rewarding and validates the expertise, heart and commitment of our team members.”
