Long Branch, NJ, May 26, 2022 – The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded full accreditation to the Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) Laboratory.
The CAP's Laboratory Accreditation Program is a unique, collaborative experience that fosters continuous improvement. On-site inspections occur every two years using CAP Accreditation Checklists to assure compliance with program requirements.
“The Accreditation Committee congratulates you and your entire staff on this achievement as together you provide excellence in laboratory medicine services,” wrote Kathleen G. Beavis, MD, CAP Accreditation Committee Chair in a letter to Regional Chair of Pathology Nagy H. Mikhail, MD, MSc. “Successfully completing the Laboratory Accreditation Program Standards for Accreditation is a significant accomplishment, and we thank you for your laboratory's commitment to continuous quality improvement.”
Additionally, MMC has been awarded accreditation for its blood transfusion services through the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies, an international association representing individuals and institutions involved in the fields of transfusion medicine and biotherapies.
