Practices and competitions for organized youth sports have started to resume in accordance with health and safety protocols. In addition to player safety amid COVID-19, many parents and guardians have questions on how to help their children avoid injuries after a long break from athletics. Orthopedic surgeons from Pediatric Orthopedic Associates, a practice of the combined Medical Group of RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Health and affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, will share their expertise on returning to youth sports during COVID-19, common pediatric orthopedic injuries and how parents can determine when an injury needs a doctor’s attention.
